• Alkof DX Syrup is used in the treatment of dry cough
• It is used for the temporary relief of cough due to throat irritation, sneezing, and running nose

• Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Alkof DX Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

• Alkof DX Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, which relieves dry cough. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which helps reduce cough associated with allergies by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger, histamine. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant which relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain.

  Driving:

  Alkof DX Syrup may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.

  Kidney:

  Alkof DX Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Alkof DX Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

  Liver:

  Alkof DX Syrup is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

  Pregnancy:

  Alkof DX Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

  Breastfeeding:

  Alkof DX Syrup is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
