Avomine Tablet

• Avomine Tablet is used in the treatment of nausea and vomiting
• It is also used for short-term treatment of insomnia (difficulty sleeping) in adults and as a sedative in children aged 5 years and above

• Sleepiness

If you experience any persistent or severe side effects, consult your doctor immediately.

• Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Avomine Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

• How Avomine Tablet works Avomine Tablet is an antiallergic medication. When your body is exposed to an allergen (pollen, animal dander, house dust etc.), it produces a chemical called histamine. This causes watery eyes, runny or blocked nose, sneezing, skin rashes, itching etc. Avomine Tablet works by blocking the action of histamine, thereby relieving these symptoms. It also works directly on several areas of the brain to prevent nausea/vomiting and help you feel more relaxed.

  Alcohol:

  Avomine Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.

• 
  Driving:

  Avomine Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

• 
  Kidney:

  Avomine Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Avomine Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor. However, caution is advised in patients with severe kidney disease as it may cause excessive sleepiness in them.

  Liver:

  Avomine Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Avomine Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

  Pregnancy:

  Avomine Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

• 
  Breastfeeding:

  Avomine Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. For prolonged use and repeated doses of Avomine Tablet, observe the baby for excessive sleepiness.
