• How Clamp Suspension works.Clamp Suspension is an antibiotic. It has two active agents, amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas, clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

  Alcohol:

  Interaction with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor.

  Driving:

  Do not drive unless you are feeling well.Clamp Suspension may cause side effects such as allergic reactions, dizziness or fits that may make you unfit to drive.

  Kidney:

  Clamp Suspension should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Clamp Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor. The dose also needs to be reduced in neonates and infants due to incompletely developed renal function.

  Liver:

  Clamp Suspension should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Clamp Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is recommended while you are taking this medicine

  Pregnancy:

  Clamp Suspension is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

  Breastfeeding:

  Clamp Suspension is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
