• How can I give Clavam BID Dry Syrup to my child? Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Dissolve the powder in sterile water. Shake well and use. Clavam BID Dry Syrup is to be taken with food.

• How Clavam Powder for Oral Suspension works Clavam BID Dry Syrup is an antibiotic. It has two active agents, amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxycillin works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) essential for the survival of the bacteria. Whereas, clavulanic acid serves a special purpose of inhibiting an enzyme (beta-lactamase) that is produced by resistant bacteria. This makes the combination of amoxycillin and clavulanic acid an effective line of treatment for many types of infections.

  Clavam BID Dry Syrup should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Clavam BID Dry Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Consult with your child’s doctor before giving Clavam BID Dry Syrup to your child in case of a severe form of liver disease.

  Pregnancy:

  Clavam BID Dry Syrup is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

  Breastfeeding:

  Clavam BID Dry Syrup is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
