Precautions & Warnings
Kidney:
Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advisable while you are taking this medicine.
Liver:
Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) is generally started with low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Pregnancy:
Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) is probably safe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding:
Metformin Hydrochloride (500mg) Tablet (372) is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
